Sustainability - whether private or corporate - is no longer a marginal cultural phenomenon, but rather a value-oriented and decisive factor that increases the attractiveness of an employer or a brand and at the same time provides social and economic added value. This makes it all the more important for online retailers to think about how they can make their online store, supply chains and products as sustainable as possible. Wolfgang Röbig from GIGA.GREEN goes one step further and has set himself and his company the goal of saving one gigaton of CO2. GIGA.GREEN has made it its mission to equip large companies in Germany with photovoltaic systems and thus support a greener future.
Among other things, Wolfgang studied business administration and Chinese, registered his own cell phone business at the age of 18 and set up his own distribution chain. After several positions abroad, he came into contact with the topic of sustainability for the first time as CSO of ReBuy. When asked about his company's ambitious goal of saving one gigaton of CO2, the Managing Director of GIGA.GREEN simply says: "We have learned from the past and say that our goal must be so big that people are afraid of it.
In this episode, our guest not only talks about the advantages, but also about any hurdles and basic requirements that need to be met in order to equip a company with the appropriate photovoltaic system technology. In the latest episode of Thanks for Shopping, Wolfgang tells our podcast hosts Nadja Müller and Saravanan Sundaram how he came up with the idea of GIGA.GREEN, why his Chinese language skills of all things have helped him and how he wants to equip the many commercial roof areas of German big players with his company.
