How well prepared is online retail for current challenges?

Booking your next vacation, buying movie tickets or ordering dinner on the go - e-commerce is booming. Both sales and the range of products and services on offer are increasing rapidly every year.

But they also bring challenges for the industry: The coronavirus pandemic, supply bottlenecks, material shortages, the war in Ukraine and the associated inflation crises are calling many familiar things into question, causing change and exerting pressure on retailers. In addition, the industry's ever-growing turnover requires change: ever-increasing transport volumes, packaging and returns all have a direct and indirect impact on the environment. At the same time, consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of sustainability.

With our 2022 trend study, we want to find out how online retailers are facing up to the current problems and what conclusions they are drawing for their future corporate strategy. In addition to a current situation report, the data will also be used to develop strategic assistance for online retailers. What can and must be put in place as quickly as possible and how can politics help with implementation?

Participation is possible in the period from 23.05.2022 to 10.07.2022.
